The Outsourcer connects South African talent with remote admin and support roles at international companies. We operate from Cape Town, South Africa.
We are the responsible party for the personal information described in this notice, as that term is used in South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). If you have any question about how we handle your information, contact us at hello@theoutsourcer.co.za.
The Outsourcer is currently pre-launch, and the waitlist form is the only place we ask you for personal information. When you join, we collect:
That is the complete list. We do not ask for your ID number, your banking details, your address, or copies of documents at this stage, and you should treat any message that does ask for them as suspicious.
Our hosting and email providers also process standard technical information such as your IP address and browser type when you load the site, which is ordinary for any website and is used to keep the service running and secure.
We use your information for a small, specific set of purposes:
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Joining the waitlist is a voluntary act, and it is how you give us permission to email you about our launch and about roles. You can withdraw that permission at any time, and every email we send you will include a way to unsubscribe.
If you gave us a WhatsApp number, we will only use it if you have asked us to reach you there. Withdrawing consent will not disadvantage you in any way, and it does not affect any processing that already lawfully took place.
We rely on a small number of service providers, called operators under POPIA, to run the platform. They act on our instructions and may not use your information for their own purposes:
Some of these providers operate servers outside South Africa, which means your information may be processed in another country. We only use providers that are required to protect your information to a standard comparable to POPIA.
We keep your waitlist details until one of the following happens: you ask us to delete them, or you tell us you are no longer interested, or they are no longer needed for the purpose you gave them for.
If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so within a reasonable period, except where we are required by law to retain a record.

The site is served over HTTPS, the waitlist form is rate limited against abuse, and access to the waitlist database is restricted to the people who need it. No system is perfect, so if a breach ever affects your personal information we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
We never charge candidates to join the waitlist, to apply, to interview, or to be introduced to an employer. Employers and clients pay us; you do not.
We only contact you from an @theoutsourcer.co.za address, and we will never ask you for a one-time PIN, a password, your banking login, or your card details. South Africa's Department of Employment and Labour warns work seekers that requests for payment in exchange for employment services are likely to be a scam.
If you receive a message claiming to be from The Outsourcer that asks for money or sensitive details, please report it to hello@theoutsourcer.co.za.
We may update this notice as the platform develops, particularly as we move from waitlist to launch. When we make a significant change we will update the date below and, where the change affects how we use your information, tell you directly.
